Must HAVE Apple Products

If you recall in my "I Got ANOTHER Job" post, I said I wanted to use my Kohls money to buy some Apple products. And for those who do not know, I am pretty much a die hard Apple fan. I have spent countless hours watching/reading product reviews, and watching/reading Apple rumors (did you know the Apple AirTags were rumored 2 years before Apple released them?). Not only that, but Apple was the very first stock I bought and until a few months ago, it was my biggest holding.

My Apple History

My Apple crave began in high school when I was being introduced to the smartphone world since my parents did not allow me to have a smartphone until I was older (which was probably smart or else my brain cells would have been fried).

I originally was a Samsung user and had gotten my older brothers hand me down Samsung s5 that was shattered and lagggggy as heck.

The very first time I was introduced to Apple was in a group chat that I was in. I don't recall if anyone made fun of me, but the part that made me go on the search for a new phone was how laggy the phone was. Granted the screen was shattered and a few years old, but that group chat I was in was what introduced me to Apple. I felt like I was missing out on all the group chat features that iPhone users had. Essentially I had FOMO.

Even after I got the iPhone 7 Plus, I joined the Apple mob and started peer pressuring my friends into getting an iPhone. That peer pressure aspect of iPhone users is REAL. 2 of my Android friends have switched to iPhone just because of the peer pressure they have received from their iPhone friends. To THIS day there are still debates on which phone is better Samsung or iPhone. Anyways, once I got the iPhone 7 Plus I started saving money up for an AirPod.

AirPods

Yes that's right, I was one of the VERY first to get the AirPods. I saved up the money in cash and I got to say, walking into the Apple store and giving them a wad of cash felt so goooood. I felt so bougie because I was like "oh $200 for those AirPods? yea, let me just get that out of my purse." Needless to say my 16 year old self was feeling empowered.

About 4 years later and I still have my 1st gen AirPods. Now I am thinking of getting the AirPods Pro but my AirPods still work like a charm. Honestly the only reason why I want to buy new AirPods is because my 1st gen AirPods are so dirty. It's mainly the case itself that's ugly. I just do not understand the black smudges and how they got there either.

I want to buy the AirPods Pro so that I don't have to wear my headphones since my left ear gets an ear infection when I go hours on end listening to music. The lack of airflow causes wax to build up which is highly annoying. AirPods allow me to leave my left ear free while being able to listen to music and stuff. Also the AirPods are a great way to listen to music privately while working on homeowork. I know that the AirPods will be a good investment since they are durable and will provide me with tons of entertainment that will make the $300 worth it.

iPad Air

Ever since the iPad Air came out I wanted to buy it. Heck even BEFORE it was released I wanted it. I knew every little detail of the iPad before it was released because there were leaks coming out left and right months before it was announced. So by the time it FINALLY came out, my urge to buy it was very very high. BUT I waited one, because I didn't have the money at the time and two, I wanted to have a strong reason to buy it.

With the Kohl's income I will be able to buy it which solves issue number one of not having the money, but I have yet to find a solid reason to buy it.

Aside from notetaking and creating some music bops here and there, I don't know if spending $600 on a glorified notepad is worth it. Which is kind of funny because my friend used that exact same excuse on her mom and it worked so I guess it is worth it??

Yes I can watch Netflix, look at news, play games, etc, but I can already do that on my phone.

But I think I will still have the money on hand just in case if I find a good reason to buy it. I would have to set aside over $1000 to buy the iPad, Apple Pencil, Smart Folio case, and this screen protector that makes it feel as if you are writing on paper. Dang that's a lot of money! But the notetaking itself is reason to invest in it because if it helps me with my education/creativity then its an investment on myself.

AirTags

The amount of times I lose my crap is too many to count. It's mainly pencils, phones, and glasses. I am actually surprised at how little I misplace my wallet and keys, but that doesn't mean I could lose them. Introducing Apple AirTags! Yep Apple's version of Tile EXCEPT get this, c h e a p e r! 1 Apple AirTag costs $29 whereas a Tile's equivalent is $35. Yes Tile has trackers as cheap as $25, but feature set wise Tile's Pro tracker is $6 more than AirTags. I think AirTags are so simplistic and I love how Apple made them into designer accessories by adding leather key rings and holders (which are the usual overpriced Apple products). Despite the fact that I KNOW I don't NEED AirTags, I still feel like I need them and therefore want them. Just the fact that it's from Apple makes me want to buy it. And when I start going back to school again, I am sure to lose a ton of things as I am scurrying from one place to another.

Apple Watch Band

The last Apple product that I want to purchase (but have absolutely no need for) is the Saddle Brown Modern Buckle leather watch band. Is it a $150 watch band? Yes. Is that overpriced and there are far cheaper alternatives? Yes. Do I still want it? Yes!

I have had my standard Apple Watch Band for almost 3 years and I thought it would crack or break, but I got to say that the Silicone watch band is SUPER durable. I thought the part where the band goes in would rip over bending it when taking it on and off, but there's not even a smidge of a crack to be seen.

Also, can I just say that Apple Watch 4 was the best bang for your buck because the new watches all have the same design and marginal new health features. Just patting myself on the back for wanting the Apple Watch 4 because I still love the new design and health features.

Total Cost

After writing down all the Apple products I wanted, I began to wonder how much it would cost and how much I would have to set aside.

To recap the Apple Products I want (and absolutely do not need, therefore I may not actually get any of these products because what sane person spends hundreds of dollars on Apple products when it could be used for college savings or charity???) are:

  1. iPad Air $599

  2. Apple Pencil 2 Gen $129

  3. Smart Folio iPad Air case $79

  4. Paperlike screen protector $40

  5. AirPods Pro $249

  6. AirTags 4 Pack $99

  7. AirTags Key Ring $35

  8. AirTags Leather Loop $39

  9. Saddle Brown Modern Buckle $149

  10. iPhone Leather Wallet $60 (I know I didn't mention it previously but I definitely want this as well)

Putting on my Math Cap, I would have to set aside: $1478

Yeaaa... that is a lot of money. And that doesn't even include all the taxes on each product so its more like $1,782 with a 20% tax on all the products :(

BUT I will get these slowly and over time. This post will be my Apple Vision Board to motivate me to have something to work towards! Stay tuned for reviews on these products (even though there are countless review videos and articles already out, but what's one more right?).
