Cat Café Thoughts

Yesterday I went to my first cat café and it was an awesome experience!
The desire to go to a cat café came from the show called Call Me Kat where Kat (the main character) owns her own cat café and the story cover's her life. After watching multiple episodes, I thought it was so cool to be able to eat and relax surrounded by cats. The concept was so cool to me that I quickly googled to see if cat cafe's were a real thing and it turns out they are! While there isn't much the one I went to was amazing!
Digital Aspect of Cat Café Lounge
From making the appointment to the end of the visit, I was thoroughly impressed by the Cat Café Lounge. Their website was up to date and aesthetically pleasing while giving all the information needed which made me want to go to the café even more. You see I find companies that have out of date designs as unadaptable and is the first indicator on whether or not its a good company. With the pandemic and everything being online, I believe that a company's website MUST be constantly updated with information and or designs. Having a strong easy to use website is imperative to establishing the first impression because it sets the tone for the rest of the experience. Its similar to walking into a store and feeling the urge to shop. Creating a safe and welcoming environment is imperative for me when I am shopping in person at a store, and I apply those same standards for websites. This is because since I am not at the store, I have to get the shopping experience solely from the internet, therefore I have a high standard towards websites because I expect to get a similar experience as I would get at the actual store. Of course that's just me. But when you think of it, if you looked at Apple's website and it was the quality of the Craigslist website then you would not be impressed. Just by clicking the Craigslist and Apple links, you can instantly notice the difference in design. Both may be highly functional, but one is far more superior in getting their message across. I know I am putting wayyy too much emphasis on the digital experience but with the pandemic these digital parts of a company have become far more important than before. From the website to the way companies communicate with me are the first thing I look at when shopping or doing activities such as going to a cat café. The Cat Café Lounge website did a terrific job at creating the same experience as the physical café. If you look at the website it's very simple and focuses on the experience a human gets by going to their café, which is exactly how their café is set up as well.
Physical Aspect of the Cat Café Lounge
With all of the cute cat décor, calm blue's, and comfy seating it lived up to what I saw on the website. The café was modern, minimalistic, and gave me beachy vibes which made me feel so comfortable. I also found the way they handled the sign in's to be efficient and COVID conscious. The café was on the second level of a building complex and when I arrived they had me stay outside in front of the steps and brought people up one group at a time to make sure that their entrance area did not get too overcrowded. This organization flowed throughout the café and outdoor cat patio (which they call the Catio), which I appreciated since I like things to not be messy. This organization combined with the relaxing design of the café made the appointment a unique experience. This makes me wish all animal shelters could do something where they can socialize the animals and create a café like experience while being able to get the animal's adopted.
