Beach Thoughts

Living in California allows my family and I to go to the beautiful beaches California has to offer. I love the beach because you can never have a bad time. Its the one place that is depicted as a happy oasis, and the place everyone wants to go on a vacation at. But there are two things that I do not like about the beach.
The

Sand:
I find the sand to be highly annoying. It's great when your walking in the wet sand, but once you get to the sand that is dry its a whole different story. Sand to me is one of those things that looks good, but is actually a nightmare. It draws you in with its beauty, and then eats you alive when you touch it. It consumes EVERYTHING and is EVERYWHERE. Your beach towels, your feet, legs, hair, car, home, and anywhere else those little grains of sand can fit. There needs to be an invention where you can come out of the water and be able to walk in the dry sand without it sticking to you like an obsessive partner.
The Hassle
I find that the beach requires A LOT of things to make it worthwhile. You've got the towels, sunscreen, balls, food, chairs, and so much more that require you to drag it out to the perfect spot on the beach. The dragging it OUT may not be so bad because when you are all done setting up, it creates the perfect experience. BUT, you know the sand issue I mentioned above? Yea so that on top of packing up and having to haul everything through the sand to the car is a nightmare. Because not only are you covered in sand, but your stuff gets consumed by it too! And as if hauling everything back to the car wasn't bad enough, now you have to sit in the car with all that sand still attached to you. And no matter how much you try to get the sand off, it still manages to cling to you for dear life up until you are able to get in the shower.
Conclusion
But other than those two things, I LOVE the beach. I think my ultimate beach experience would be boogie boarding, picnic, boogie boarding some more, having a snack consisting of a large Jimmy Johns #9 sandwich, and then ending it with ice cream from Cold stone. Honestly if there's food, then the beach is soooo worth the sand and hassle.
