Is AI Innately Good or Bad?

I was watching a YouTube video by Andrei Jikh titled "All The Jobs AI Will Replace in 5 Years (And Jobs That it Wont)". In this video he mentioned that the creative sector has already been hit hard since AI like Chat GPT is able to create pictures, edit videos, etc. He even mentioned the possibility of videos being made where the person is completely fake. So I got the inspirtaion to head to Chat GPT and asked it to give me a fictional person.
"John Smith is a 35-year-old software engineer with a passion for solving complex problems through innovative coding solutions. Standing at an average height with a lean build, he has an approachable and friendly demeanor that makes it easy for him to connect with colleagues and clients alike.
His dark, wavy hair adds a touch of rugged charm to his otherwise clean-cut appearance. John's bright blue eyes sparkle with curiosity and intelligence, reflecting his keen interest in staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in technology.
When not engrossed in writing code or debugging software, John indulges in his love for outdoor activities. He enjoys hiking in the nearby mountains, finding solace in the beauty of nature and the peacefulness it brings to his busy mind.
A self-proclaimed foodie, John loves exploring new cuisines and is always on the lookout for hidden gems in the local restaurant scene. He often takes his friends on gastronomic adventures, sharing his enthusiasm for trying new dishes.
In his spare time, John volunteers at a local coding club, teaching children the basics of programming and inspiring the next generation of tech enthusiasts. He believes in giving back to the community and empowering young minds to embrace the possibilities of the digital world.
Despite his quiet confidence, John is known for his modesty and humility. He prefers to let his work speak for itself and is always willing to collaborate with others to achieve the best results. His dedication to his craft and his genuine desire to make a positive impact on the world through technology make him a valued member of any team."
Above is what ChatGPT gave me, and as I was reading I was wondering something. If AI can create a pretty detailed description of a person, how does giving credit work? If someone uses AI to create something and that something is a picture or whatever, is that person stealing? Many students have been using AI to write their essays. I don't know about you all but in high school it was pounded in my head to ALWAYS cite where you get information if it is not yours. So is using an essay AI generated the equivalent of plagiarizing? And why is the education system steering students away from using AI when its been all over the news that AI is going to change the workforce and people are worried about AI taking over their jobs?
Mark it another flaw in the schooling system. I agree students should not use AI to completely write their essays but students should be encouraged to explore it. As it is streamlining activities in the workforce, AI could streamline research and so much more. This is an untapped industry and right now the stigma around it is mainly about how it is a bad thing because it will take away jobs. In my opinion, I believe AI is going to be a powerful tool for operation activities in people's lives and businesses just like other forms of revolutionary technology have.
I personally tried using AI on a LinkedIn Learning test I had taken and passed. After taking test on my own and being able to review my answers I was curious how well Chat GPT would do. Not surprisingly it handled questions from the Excel Essential Training (Microsoft 365) exam will, yet when it came to the more in depth exam questions of the LinkedIn Learning course "Excel: Power Query (Get & Transform)" it struggled to pass with a 70% (70% is the required passing rate in order to get a specialized certificate of completion). Shocking right? I realized that the AI was getting confused and would give different answers to the same question. Each query that I gave Chat GPT was formatted with a question and then the answer options. In some cases the answer Chat GPT gave was not even one of the choices, and in others it apologized saying something like "my mistake...". AI was getting these answers wrong because it fails to do human comprehension. I believe Chat GPT struggled severely with this test because there has been little data about such specific scenarios regarding Excel Power Query.
